Five Months of Oliver

FIVE? A whole hand of months?! How lucky are we.
Oliver now weighs 17 pounds and is about 26" tall, according to our very accurate tape measure. He's still in 6-9month clothes, but definitely starting to burst out of 6 month clothes. See Exhibit A.
The biggest change this month was that he wants to sit up all the sudden! Whenever you put him in something reclining he will lean forward, so we are starting to actually use the straps on his swing and bouncer. We also found some new tickle spots that bring out his manly laugh (seriously the deepest baby laugh I've ever heard) on his upper thighs and armpits. He is also starting to interact with his toys and rattles more too which is fun to watch, you can almost see the wheels in his head turning.
Things he's loving: his new Jolly Jumper, getting dressed, when someone clicks their tongue, sitting up in a Bumbo, Tayler's scruffy face, his play gym, when Mom/Dad sing to him, Touch & Feel books, balloons.

Things he's not loving: BATHS. He still screeches like a banshees and cries real tears at bath time. I had some hope because a couple baths ago he actually splashed, but it looks like his water phobia has returned. Tummy time is still not his fav, but he is tolerating it better and can go for longer.

What we are loving: how he puts his hand on your face, his Jolly Jumper prance, his concentrating face (scrunched eyes and pursed lips), how he thinks it's hilarious to put his hands in his mouth right when we are trying to change his shirt so we can't get his sleeves on.
This little cutie makes every day better and we can't wait to get out of the house more and have more adventures as the weather warms up! Grateful to watch you grow baby boy.
