Of all the lovely past times, picnicking has to be my favorite. It combines all the best things: sandwiches, perfect weather, and the people I like the most. On Sunday we took a little drive up the hills and stopped at the first field that didn't have a fence or a no trespassing sign. Probably not the smartest approach to life (the no one told me I couldn't kind of thing) but we figured that as long as we cleaned up after ourselves we'd be okay.
Recently I've been listening to Flannel Graph's Pure Imagination cover on repeat (please go listen to it immediately, it's the most calming song in the world) and there's a line in there that's been echoing in my brain.
If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it.
I love that idea, that we are living in paradise if we take the time to look at it that way. So with this thought in mind, we packed up ham sandwiches, chips, those cute little circle cheeses and a couple of bottles of root beer and ate them on a blanket while the sun went down. The color of the grass was unreal, and with the sun setting everything looked so beautiful and golden. I thought for sure we'd have some gnats or other insect party crashers but there weren't any! That's my kind of paradise.

That picnic basket!! Haha beautiful pics, Cort. And isn't that so true about finding our own paradise!
